After successfully becoming the Grand Finalist of ESL One Cologne, through IEM’s official twitter account on Friday it was announced that SK Gaming and Team Liquid were the first two teams to be invited to the Intel Extreme Masters Oakland tournament.
SK Gaming managed to beat Liquid by a score of 2-0 in the Grand Final of ESL One Cologne, this victory made them win the Major tournament twice in a row. Liquid will play with their new IEM Oakland player Jacob “Pimp” Winneche.

IEM Oakland will use the same format as IEM Katowice, bringing together 12 teams that will be divided into two groups. Where the top three teams in each group will advance to the playoffs, and the top team in each group will immediately advance to the quarter-finals.
IEM Oakland will take place on November 19-20 at Oracle Arena, Oakland, California. The total prize pool for this tournament has not been officially announced, while for the previous season the IEM prize pool totaled $ 1 million USD.
